this policy explains how tunedaddy handles personal information collected through this site. we handle personal information consistently with the privacy act 1988 (cth) and the australian privacy principles. contact: support@tunedaddy.com.au.
when you buy a tune: your name and email; an order reference and a stripe payment reference — your card details go directly to stripe and we never see or store your card number; the .map file you upload and the tuned .map we generate, which may contain vehicle or ecu identifiers; confirmation that you accepted the displayed risk, use and terms version; and any support correspondence.
when you check a map, whether or not you buy: we keep a copy of the .map file itself, along with the factory calibration identifier we read from it and the result of the check. this copy is stored separately from your name, email and order, and is used to learn which factory calibrations are actually out there so we can decide which vehicles to support next. a td5 .map holds engine calibration tables — your vin and injector codes live in the ecu itself, not in this file.
when you join a waitlist or request a vehicle: your email and the details you give us.
when you browse: aggregate, cookie-free analytics via plausible; error diagnostics via sentry; and standard server logs, which include ip addresses. the order flow uses a session cookie to remember your progress — there are no advertising or tracking cookies.
to check compatibility and generate your tune, take payment, deliver the file, provide support, keep required business and tax records, detect fraud and abuse, understand which vehicles to support next, and improve the product.
only the service providers we use to run tunedaddy: stripe (payments), resend (order emails), render (hosting), plausible (analytics) and sentry (error monitoring). some of these providers store data outside australia, including in the united states and europe. we do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
the working copy of an upload that never becomes an order is deleted within 24 hours. uploaded and generated map files on paid orders are deleted 90 days after the order — that's the support window. the separate calibration copy described above is kept indefinitely as reference data, unlinked from your name, email or order; email us and we'll delete yours. order records are kept for up to 7 years to meet accounting and tax obligations. waitlist and vehicle-request emails are kept until we contact you or you ask to be removed.
we only email you about your order, or about the specific thing you asked to hear about. any marketing email will identify us and include a working unsubscribe link, as the spam act 2003 (cth) requires.
email support@tunedaddy.com.au to access, correct or delete your personal information — we aim to respond within 30 days. we may need to keep the minimum records the law requires even after a deletion request.
if a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the office of the australian information commissioner as the notifiable data breaches scheme requires. if you have a privacy complaint, contact us first; if you're not satisfied with our response you can complain to the oaic at oaic.gov.au.
