the nanocom reads your current .map from the ecu and writes your tuned .map back. it does not have to be yours: a borrowed or workshop unit can do the job when its td5 map function is enabled.
ask a mate or local workshop first. you can also buy a nanocom evolution from the official blackbox solutions reseller network. we're researching cheaper read/write options too.
the nanocom write process erases and rewrites ecu memory. an interruption, unstable voltage, connection problem or incorrect ignition sequence can leave the ecu and vehicle unusable. use a good-quality sd card and a proper stable power supply, keep the engine off and ignition at stage 2 when instructed, switch off other electrical equipment, and do not disconnect or move the nanocom during the write.
read the official nanocom td5 flashing guide → before writing a map.
